Phyllis’s Garden is dedicated to ensuring that survivors of sexual assault are not only supported but also represented in the community. We strive to ensure that survivors’ voices are heard loud and clear through various avenues, such as podcasts, media, speaking engagements, both locally and nationally, and sharing experiences with law enforcement agencies.
By listing our activities and engagements, we aim to provide transparency and assurance that we are actively advocating for victims and survivors of sexual assault. We firmly believe that speaking up and speaking out is crucial in creating a supportive and empathetic environment for survivors to heal and thrive.
Phyllis’s Garden connects with the public nationwide, as well as with law enforcement, to share the experiences of sexual assault victims and how these experiences affect not only the victims but also their families and communities.
Program Impact
The Educational Outreach Program has transformed the understanding of law enforcement and the public regarding the distinct healing journey of sexual assault victims, highlighting their different needs compared to other crime victims. By sharing these perspectives, the program has influenced how law enforcement conducts interviews with victims when they report their crimes.
